Krakon, a disgraced alien noble, has joined the swarm. They’re a lawless band of brutes, but they do have one rule: No human mates. Not a problem. He attacks it and steals one of the frozen humans. Not to mate with her. Just to sell her. Humans are worth a fortune, and he can keep her frozen in cryostasis without ever having to so much as look at her. That was the plan, at least. Catherine is bitten by a snake, then wakes up centuries in the future. A brutal alien throws her over his shoulder and abducts her. He commands her to keep her mouth shut and to not touch anything, especially him. They crash-land on a frozen planet full of savages even more brutish than Krakon. He kills them to protect her, and when she’s wounded and freezing, he keeps her body warm with his. He says it’s just because she’s not worth any money dead. His smell betrays him. She can smell his desire through the alien scent, and she knows he wants to take her for himself. Once they get off the planet, will he give in to his hatred and sell her? Or will he betray the swarm and give up everything to make her his mate?
