The Old Testament: Its formation and development

An unappreciated and overlooked treatment of the formation of the Jewish conception of the canon of Scripture, and then the closing, of the canon - and why. Related to this, but not obvious from the title, is the book's information on Jewish writings (apocryphal, apocalyptic, pseudepigraphal) which ultimately were not included in the Hebrew canon of Scripture.
